The Scandal of the Lebanese Skier Naked on the Snow

The Lebanese skater who shares in the Olympic Games in 2014 in Sochi, Russia, has raised Controversy after the publishing of an advertising movie in which she appeared naked on the ice when a number of photographers were snapping her pictures.
The video was circulated on social networking sites for the whole last week. The naked Lebanese skier Jacky Shimon, 23 years old, has caused severe criticism in and out Lebanon. It came to demand to stop the skater who distorted the reputation of the Lebanese women by publishing such immoral photos.
The Lebanese newspaper of “Al Lewaa” has published that: “Shimon and Alex Mekhbat represent Lebanon in the Olympic games, but Shimon appeared in immoral situation that completely against the Lebanese customs and tradition. What she did is something personal, according to the freedom of individual, but the main responsible for this is the committee that chose her to represent her country. This committee did not respect the criteria of any athlete supposed to represent his country”. The article went on to call the head of the Olympic committee, Jean Ham, to resign.
In the photo session, she was completely naked and standing on the snow. Few days after, she apologized to her fans. She asserted that she understand the criticism she had. Through her page on Facebook she posted: “I want to clarify to all who contributed in publishing these photos and uploading them on the internet; that I really participated in that session in the favor of a yearly Austrian calendar concerning encouraging skiing. Also a number of universal skaters have shared the session three years ago.”
She also added: “these photos and video are part of my job there, they were not supposed to be exposed on public. Anyway, I want to apologize to you all, I know that Lebanon is a religious country and such photos should not affect or reflect our culture. I completely understand your criticism”.
Finally, she asked her fans to stop sharing these photos to help her to concentrate on the champion.
