Fly for the first time

when we decided to puplish "Hello Egy", we realized how hard our mission is؛ as our main goal behind publishing an arab universal journal in English, the language used by about 11% of the people in the whole planet that will act as a bridge between East and West, is to lessen the old gap between languages along history.

We have been studying the cultural effect and its co
ntributions in deffrent civilizations for many centuries ago. And we assert on the important role that translation played to achieve communication between these different civilizations. We have been waiting and calling for communication with the other, but instead of friendship we got hostility and suspicion.

Islam calls for building new relatins, friendships, and cooperation for the favor of the mankind. It is mentioned in the holy Quran:
"o mankind, indeed we have created you from male and female and made you people and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed the most noble of you in the sight of allah is the most rightous of you. Indeed allah is knowing and acquainted".
But actually we got more isolated. The real problem is actually the culture that reinforces racism and individualism, and suspects any other thing according to the famous arab saying : what you know is better than what you don't.

For along time, racism has been turned from being the most unaccepted manner into a sacred custom. And as a result we suffered from social diseases which forced us to deal with diffrent doctrines of different sects. Justice, ration, and freedom have disappeared from our society.

It is wrong to consider that religion may cause a kind of misunderstanding or a fight. Any religion always calls for unity, cooperation, and development. The religious principles, no matter the different religions, are actually human principles that all worK together in favour of man. So, it is wrong to believe in the term of "clash of civilizations" , there is only one God, and the unity of the mankind is an absolute reality for ever.

Despite the good efforts exerted in the field of translation around the world and the translated Arab, English, and French journals, all are just attempts that have not made an effective big change yet. As a result, no one knows about the real Arab society, all information are mere imagination or an image that helps to widen the gap between nations. I really feel sorry about the idea of the arab man in the western minds that the arab man still owns maids and camels. Or some times the arab man represents the image of the violent terrorist who kills and kidnaps the tourists. We really feel bad for some people who misuse this "clear ignorance" about the arab society to widen the gap and misunderstanding between east and west.

The western society has been succeded in introducing themselves by drama, cenima, literature, and the modern inventions, while we stayed the same. In spite of this huge media, the image of the western society was not perfect enough, as some arab still consider the forigners as invadors who don't believe in God. We want to see the real society away from singers, politicions, and football stars. We want to see a simple man, we want to know his real experience, his dreams when come to true, we want to see our common interests, we need to know each other, and it will be the first step towards cooperation to solve our problems in the world; the home we share.

In spite of the western's success in introducing themselves, we didn't make it, it is a loss. Communication is a process that shared by two parties, and its success depends on the cooperation between both parties, East and West. There is a simple arab saying : you can do nothing by your own.

Iam sorry to say that in the time of this huge technology, there is no knowledge. And instead of cooperation, there are parties and battles that make us fear from the rise of a third World War soon.

The main goal of "Hello Egy" is not to be the best. It is not based upon history, geography or the hiretage of our ancesstors. We want to start from the very begining. We all are humanbeings who may wright and may err. The hiretage of the mankind is so huge and all nations have contributed in it. We all are affected by each other. A simple citizen in a far country may cause an increase of the Ozon hole or increase the greenhouse effect. Another citizen in another far country may invent a medicine to cure patients. Now we present "Hello Egy", an arab journal in english, the first language in the whole world. It only works in favor of man, not east nor wast. Our mission is simple but great which is to search for truth every where.

Our journal is based upon objectivity and truth. Our goal is to present an arab universal press for the native speakers of english all over the world. We wish it would be a step to publish another arab journals in English, French, Chinese, Japanese, and many other languages.

Culture, press and media are like birds, they don't believe in borders and passports. So do "Hello Egy", it flys for the first time to present our press, ideas, dreams, and achievements to the whole world. It also presents the universal press, ideas, dreams and achievements, we will be so objective and honest, it won't be only about our abvantages, we will do our best to achieve deep knowledge and understanding and make a good use of the human experience all over the world.

التحليق لأول مرة

عندما قررنا إصدار هذه الصحيفة كنا ندرك صعوبة المهمة التي نتصدى لها ، فالهدف الرئيس إصدار صحيفة عربية الروح، عالمية المحتوى، تتكلم الإنجليزية التي يتحدث بها 11% من سكان العالم،.. صحيفة تكون بمثابة الجسر بين الشرق والغرب، والعكس، تستهدف سد الفجوة التاريخية التي صنعتها "اللغة".
منذ قرون، ونحن ندرس التمازج الثقافي ودوره في بناء الحضارات، ونؤكد دور الترجمة في التواصل مع العالم . منذ قرون ونحن ننظٍّر، وندعو الى مد الجسور مع الآخر، ولكن على الأرض انتشر الضباب والجهل، وبدلا من التقارب كان العداء، وعلى أقل تقدير "التوجس".
ورغم أن ديننا الاسلامي يحضنا على التعارف، والتعاون، والتآذر لخدمة البشرية، قال تعالى يا أيها الناس إنا خلقناكم من ذكر و أنثى و جعلناكم شعوبا و قبائل لتعارفوا إن أكرمكم عند الله أتقاكم"، كنا بالتدريج نغرق في المزيد من الانعزال.. ، المشكلة كانت تكمن في ثقافة خاطئة تعزز الفردية، والعصبية، والاعتزاز بالنفس، تعظم "الأنا" ، وتتوجس من الآخر ، وكما يقول المثل الشعبي "اللي تعرفه أحسن من اللي ما تعرفوش" ..
لقد قننا العصبية الصفة المذمومة، المرفوضة، وجعلناها عرفا اجتماعيا له قوة الدين، وكانت النتيجة أن أفرزت هذه العنصرية العديد من الأمراض، فاحتكمنا للحسب، والنسب، والدين، والمناطقية والمذهبية، بدلا من الحق والعقل والمنطق والحرية، يقول المثل الشعبي الآخر "أنا وأخويا على ابن عمي ، وأنا وابن عمي على الغريب".
يخطيء من يظن الدين عامل صراع واختلاف وتباعد، الدين الحقيقي يسعى للوحدة والتعاون والبناء . والقيم الدينية مهما اختلفت الأديان .. في الحقيقة قيم إنسانية .. تسعى كلها إلى مصلحة الإنسان. لذلك من العبث أن نردد مصطلح "صراع الحضارات". فخالق البشر واح، والوحدة الانسانية حقيقة لابد منها. مهما طال الزمن.
ومع وجود جهد لابأس به في الترجمة، ومحاولات صحفية عربية بالإنجليزية والفرنسية . تبقى كلها مستحضرات تجميل، ومحاولات قليلة لا تشكل تيارا كبيرا مؤثرا.
وكانت نتيجة ذلك جهل الآخر بالواقع العربي، وعندما تغيب المعلومات يبدأ التأليف، والتخيل، والتصور ، وهي عناصر تزيد الهوة اتساعا بين الأمم والشعوب. من المؤسف أن تظل فكرة البعض في الغرب عن العربي حتى الآن لا تتعدى الرجل الشهواني الذي يقتني الجواري، ويركب الجمل، ويتيه في الصحراء. أو في شكلها الحديث "إرهابي" يفجر الطائرات، ويخطف السياح، .. من المؤسف أن يستغل البعض هذا "الجهل الفاضح" لتوسيع دائرة الشقاق، والخلاف، وسوء الظن .
لقد نجح الغرب في تقديم نفسه لنا عن طريق السينما، والأدب، والدراما العالمية ، والاختراعات الحديثة، بينما قبعنا نحن داخل الشرنقة. . ورغم ميديا الغرب العملاقة فإن الصورة التي تقدمها كانت ناقصة، والدليل على ذلك أن البعض في بلاد العرب مازال يتعامل مع الأجانب كغزاة، ومستعمرين، وكفار.
نريد أن نعرف العال الحقيقي، ليس فقط نجوم الغناء، والكرة ، ودواه السياسة، .. نريد أن نعرف الإنسان البسيط، والتجارب الخلاقة، والأحلام عندما تتحقق، والهموم الإنسانية المشتركة ، نريد أن تكون المعرفة خطوة أولى للتعاون لحل مشكلات الكرة الأرضية . بيتنا المشترك.
حتى ولو نجح الغرب في التعريف بنفسه . وفشلنا نحن، فإن الخسارة عامة، لأن التواصل الإنساني عملية مشتركة وجهد ثنائي بين قطبين . يعتمد نجاحه على مشاركة الطرفين. شرق وغرب . و"الأيدي الواحدة لا تصفق " كما يقول المثل العربي البسيط.
من المؤسف في عصر التقنية المدهشة غياب المعرفة، وبدلا من أن يتعاون العالم ويتحد، يتباعد ويتحزب، ويتفرق إلى كيانات، ومحاور إقليمية متنازعة، تعد العدة لحرب عالمية ثالثة على الأبواب.
Hello Egy لن تعمل بمنطق الأفضل، والأحسن، والأروع . لن تستند إلى التاريخ والجفرافيا وتراث الأجداد. سنضع نقطة ونبدأ من أول السطر، فكلنا بشر، نخطيء ونصيب، والعطاء الإنساني كبير، وقد شاركت فيه كل الشعوب، وأن مواطن في قرية صغيرة في أطراف العالم يمكن أن يتسبب في زيادة الاحتباس الحراري واتساع ثقب الأوزون، وآخر في أقاصي الأرض يمكن أن يخترع دواءا يفيد المرضى والمتعبين.
اليوم نجازف، بإصدار Hello Egy ونقدم صحيفة عربية باللغة الإنجليزية .. اللغة الأولى في العالم ، .. صحيفة لا تنحاز للشرق أو الغرب، ولكن تنحاز للانسان، تتصدى لمهمة بسيطة ولكنها عظيمة، وهي البحث عن الحقيقة في كل مكان.
سنحرص كل الحرص على الموضوعية، والصدق وتقديم صحافة عربية عالمية بكل مهنية واحتراف .. موجهة لقارئ اللغة الإنجليزية في هذا الكون، ونأمل أن يكون ذلك بداية لإصدار صحف عربية بلغات أجنبية .. ليس فقط الإنجليزية والفرنسية الأكثر شهرة في العالم العربي بسبب الاستعمار القديم، ولكن بلغات أخرى بعيدة كالصينية ، واليابانية .. وغيرهما ..
الثقافة والصحافة والإعلام طيور، لا تعترف بحدود وجوازات سفر وتأشيرات . لذلك ستبدأ Hello Egy التحليق لأول مرة . وتقدم للعالم صحافتنا، وأفكارنا، وأحلامنا، وإنجازاتنا . وتقدم أيضا صحافة، وأفكار، وإنجازات، وأحلام العالم، لن نتجمل ويأخذنا التيه ، لنتحول إلى نشرة سياحية إعلامية نرجسية . سنقدم حسناتنا وسيئاتنا ، مزايانا وعيوبنا .. ذلك كله لتحقيق المزيد من المعرفة والفهم، والاستفادة المشتركة من تجارب الانسان على كوكب الأرض.
