GCC Raises the Red Card to Expel Qatar
Cairo: HelloEgy.
The observers have described the decision taken by Saudia Arabia, Emirates, and Bahrain yesterday to withdraw their ambassadors from Qatar, which considered as a “red card”. However the real decision has not been publicly announced yet, it is considered as an unprecedented one in the GCC countries; to expel Qatar.
Qatar has committed so many errors that caused it to be expelled, but the GCC tried to protect the relations between the Arab countries, which caused the delaying of this decision.
The decision asserts the impatience of the Gulf states on the Qatari plots against the other countries of the GCC on one hand, and against Egypt on the other. The Qatari regime has financially supported the chaos in the Arab Spring countries - like Egypt, Libya , Tunisia , and finally Syria - then started to support the chaos in the GCC countries. They supported the Houthis in Yemen who are working to destabilize Saudi Arabia , as well as supporting the separation movements in Bahrain. They also were accused of the last terrorist attack in Bahrain, which resulted in the death of two police officers. Besides the Qatari support for Al0Qaeda in Sinai, Egypt. In addition to the Qatari attempts to form a “Turkish -Iranian - Qatari” union to affect the Arab interests.
More suspicions were raised last week when a group of Qataris were arrested in Libya carrying forged passports, which increased the doubts against the plots of Qatar against the other Arab countries. The GCC now accuses Qatar of adopting the extremist organization, including the Muslim Brotherhood group. Al Qaradawy, the Godfather of the Muslim Brotherhood, lives in Qatar for years. This group was announced as a terrorist group in Egypt.
The dispute around Al Qaradawy has been raised especially after he attacked the UAE during The Friday sermon in a masjid in Doha, which was the main reason to recall the UAE ambassador from Qatar, that was a unique step among the GCC countries.
Considering the Egyptian situation, the Qatari regime paid millions to support the Muslim Brotherhood, after the 25th January revolution, in the light of a “regional expansion plan to take control of Egypt”. But this American-Qatari plot failed after the Egyptian army, with the help of political forces, ousted the Muslim Brotherhood government and president on 30th June. The former president was accused of many charges like Communicating with a foreign country. This fall made Qatar re-support them again from the zero point.
Qatar uses its TV channel “Al Jazeera” to blackmail the other Arab regimes, incite their peoples, and create continuos chaos, which made the Egyptian government and the Egyptian court stop the broadcasting of the channel in Egypt three months ago. A number of their employees were arrested and accused of forging news and information to increase chaos.
The Qatari regime is accused of supporting terrorism through Al Qaradawy who incites his group on killing the members of army and officers. Now, all the Arab countries accuse the Qatari regime of causing the death of thousands in Libya, Syria, and Egypt. It is also accused of carrying out the American-Israeli agenda that aims at destroying the Arab interests, since Qatar hosts the largest American military base in the whole region in Al Udeid area.
Yesterday, KSA, UAE, and Bahrain have decided to recall their ambassadors from Qatar, because the Qatari government has not committed with “what they agreed about” before according to the statement issued by the three countries.
About the statement, a Saudi news agency has stated that the three countries “ had to take actions according to what they consider appropriate to protect their safety and stability, which means recalling their ambassadors from Qatar” . The statement continued that the three countries have “exerted great efforts” to convince Qatar to agree on “a commitment on the principles on non-interference in the internal affairs and , and to stop their support for any one who threaten the safety and stability of the GCC countries; whatever they were individuals or organizations, or by working directly with the security services, or by attempting to influence the political media” .
The tension between the Saudi-Qatari relationships has been increased since the ouster of the Egyptian former president Mohammad Mursi, as the Saudi authorities have supported the new authorities in Egypt, KSA, along with UAE and Kuwait, have presented their financial support to Egypt. At the same time, United Arab Emirates has banned the Muslim Brotherhood and subjected them to trials, Saudi Arabia is preparing for the implementation of decisions taken long ago to punish who were belonging to parties and several streams, including those of Muslim Brotherhood.
There are also some different opinions about Syria and accusations against Qatar for sheltering and supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, and presenting their channel Al Jazeera to guide and contact with them.
The statement also confirmed that they had agreed about these issues before during a Gulf summit in Riyadh last November, but Qatar refused to take “the necessary measures to put it into practice ."
It was also mentioned that the Kuwaiti prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al -Sabah has visited Doha and Riyadh accompanied with the Qatari prince Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad II to meet the Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz .
The periodical meeting of foreign ministers of the six countries of the GCC bloc in Riyadh last Tuesday attempts “ to convince Qatar with the importance of taking the necessary measures to put the Riyadh agreement into action” but all their efforts were useless .
Some observers expect that Qatar would not retreat from its foreign policy to destabilize the GCC countries on the one hand , and Egypt on the other hand , because the time has run out, since their role, determined by the USA, has just started.
Observers also expect more actions taken by the GCC against Qatar, that may reach to expelling it from the GCC and the Arab League too.
Whatever the optimistic scenarios, the reality asserted that the Qatari regime was defeated by recalling the three ambassadors, which means that Qatar has been expelled from the Arab World.
