“Tamarod” A Palestinian campaign to remove Hamas
Cairo: HelloEgy.
It seems that Islamic militant group, "Hamas”, the military wing of the Muslim Brotherhood is at their worst cases after some events that have recently occurred like the fall of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and it was also classified as a terroristic group. The Brotherhood regime in both Turkey and Tunisia are at risk too. Their main financier Qatar was accused of being terroristic country and carrying out the American Agenda.
The Egyptian regime now became so hostile towards them, the thing that was their huge loss, as they used to depend on the Egyptian support in Cairo. But what was more effective is the appearance of some kind of resistance inside.
In Cairo, a group of Palestinian activists have launched a campaign to overthrow the rule of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip. The campaign was called “Tamarod”, it was called after the Egyptian campaign that was launched by Egyptian activists in 2013 and resulted in removing the former president Mohamed Morsi, who is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood which has close ties with Hamas.
The activist Ayman Rejaib, the member of the Palestinian campaign Tamarod, he also is a member of Fatah movement under the leadership of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, says: “ as the Egyptian people revolted against this terrorist regime and removed it, here we are in Palestine complete their message to remove this extremist organization. Instead of fighting our enemy, Hamas opted to fight our friends in Egypt.”
The Palestinian Center for Human Rights in Gaza accused Hamas last year of launching a campaign to suppress the activists who tried to organize a protest against them last November. The Center has stated that Hamas has arrested a number of activists who said they were tortured.
Tamarod campaign in Gaza stated that they aim at removing Hamas from power, they also work on re-uniting the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, and get the opportunity to hold elections to choose a new leaders for the Palestinian people. Hend Al Araby, the coordinated of the movement, has stated that: “we demand legislative and presidential elections, and as soon as we achieve that the Palestinian people will be able to choose their representatives, there will be no more split in our country, we demand the back of out unity”.
The Cairo-stated campaign started to attack the practices of Hamas through their page on the social networking sites which witnessed a huge popularity in a short time. They also hold conferences in Cairo that were politically supported.
