Feed them, don't eat them! Animal rights activist Pamela Anderson gives turkeys a break during the holiday season
By Amelia Proud
As a tireless animal rights activist, Pamela Anderson couldn't let the turkey stuffing of Thanksgiving pass without offering up an alternative.
The 45-year-old beauty cannily decided to give wavering meat eaters the face of the dinner by posing with turkeys and pigs; and feeding them, even animals need a PA fee.
Oddly, she chose to feed the turkeys cranberries in an obvious twist on cranberry sauce and while she's clearly attempting to subvert the classic dinner combination, she may succeed in making more people hungry.
The Baywatch babe recently returned to the water for a campaign to save the whales.
The actress posed for pictures on the SSS Brigitte Bardot last month in Marina Del Rey, California, and took part in a news conference promoting the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s 2012 campaign to defend the whales.
The group's mission called Operation Zero Tolerance will began on November 5th in the North Pacific off of Japan.
It involved four ships, a helicopter, three drones and more than one hundred international volunteers, all trying to stop Japanese whalers.
The ship that Anderson posed atop will be one of the four ships took part in the operation.
Operation Zero Tolerance was Sea Shepherd’s ninth campaign defending at-risk whales in Antarctica.
Environmental activists say over the years, they have caused the whalers tens of millions of dollars in losses.
Anderson is a long-time animal rights and environmental activist.
She has volunteered for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and taken part in campaigns against seal hunting in Canada.
But she could also have another professional project coming up soon, that will take her overseas.
After being rumoured to be part of the UK's Dancing On Ice line-up for weeks, Pamela seemingly confirmed her participation after being spotted practicing hard on Monday at an ice rink in San Diego.
Taking to the ice with one of the show's professional skaters, Matt Evers, the former Baywatch star seemed to be getting the hang of it, despite looking a little nervous.
