They parted ways over six years ago, but now Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are reunited again.
And it's not a happy occasion, as the former couple have been hit by a big tax lien.
The singer and her ex-husband reportedly owe the California Franchise Tax Board $37,712.71 in unpaid income tax dating back to 2004, the year they tied the knot.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, California state authorities filed the37 grand lien against the former couple on Tuesday.
2004 was a highly successful year for the pop star, who not only released a greatest hits album but toured the world with it as well.
Meanwhile, her then husband Kevin, who once worked as a back-up dancer for Michael Jackson, appeared in the dance flick You Got Served.
The famous couple separated in 2006 and have two sons together, Sean Preston, 7, and Jayden James, 6.
The Oops I Did It Again singer is currently hard at work as a mentor on the US version of the X Factor, for which she reportedly received a $15m paycheck.
Behind the scenes sources say the star is enjoying the experience and is considering signing up for another year.
'It's a lot of fun. It's different from anything I've ever done before, but it's a lot of fun,' Britney admitted before. 'We get to sit back and get to be entertained, and it's just wonderful. It's really cool.'
The Baby One More Time hit maker is currently engaged to her former agent Jason Trawick.
She also hit the studios again and is set to release a single Scream & Shout together with rapper and producer Will.I.Am.
