Kate Winslet flatters her womanly curves in fitted black skater dress... as she attends American Christmas Carol Concert
By Jennifer Pearson
Kate Winslet looked every bit the sophisticate.
The Oscar-winning actress was elegant in subtle black as she stepped out to attend the American Christmas Carol Concert in New York on Friday.
Turning heads in her dark A-line dress that flared to just above the knees, sheer black stockings and peek-a-boo black heels, Kate was a vision.
This was a happy occasion for the 37-year-old English actress, as the event benefited her Golden Hat Foundation that seeks to help people with autism by eliminating barriers and creating awareness.
Kate captivated the audience with a motivating speech, and her voice and very presence was felt by all.
Earlier in the evening, Kate joined the other attendees on the carpet to show her solidarity.
Kate was spotted with her arms wrapped around redheaded New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra, who looked like a vision in a royal blue frock paired with red patent heels.
Also on hand at the event were singers Sarah McLachlan and Loreena McKennitt who is famous for her Celtic and Middle Eastern themes.
Kate was undoubtedly still feeling the glow following her meeting last week with the Queen, who presented her with the prestigious CBE Award for her services to drama.
The star of The Reader attended the lavish Buckingham Palace ceremony wearing a beautiful Alexander McQueen black suit.
She was accompanied by her two children, Mia, 12, and Joe, eight, and the ladies had a wonderful time talking about the joys of motherhood.
Mia was born during Kate's first marriage to director Jim Threapleton, whom she wed in 1998 but amicably divorced three years later.
In 2003, the actress married director Sam Mendes and had their son, Joe, but the Kate and Mendes - who helms the latest Bond flick Skyfall - called it quits in 2010.
Kate's new boyfriend, Ned Rocknroll, was reportedly at the November 21 ceremony as well - he is the 34-year-old nephew of Sir Richard Branson but changed his surname from Abel Smith by deed poll.
The busy actress is never still, it seems. She has completed two films, Labor Day and Movie 43, and is about to begin to a romantic drama called The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society directed by Kenneth Branagh.
